For the LOVE of picnics

I love picnics! I love to pack a delicious lunch and find a beautiful place to eat. When I was really little I remember hiking or biking up to the Great Lawn by where we live. We'd pack a lunch, bring a kite, and have the best time. There is nothing better than getting to enjoy a sunny day with friends, family, or just yourself. Bring a book to read while laying out on a blanket. It couldn't get any better than that!

Fitness Update and Spartacus Workout


I woke up and all I wanted to do was the Spartacus Workout. My husband, Ryan, always does this workout. He actually leads a group of his friends when doing this workout. He also sees his best results with it. He gave me his printed copy of it, which is ten pages long but with just one exercise on each page, that's annoying to do when your new to the workout having to spend your rest time flipping through the pages. So I put it all together on one page to print out.

Since this is a circuit workout and its to hard for me to keep track of the times, I downloaded my newest favorite app for my Ipad, Seconds Pro. It let me set up each exercise for 60 seconds, with a 15 second break in between, then it let me set up the 2 min break in between the sets. In order to save it though I had to buy it but its so worth the 3 bucks. Oh and it lets me play my music in the background of the app too! It also lets you put the workout online to be uploaded onto any device, here is the my timer program for the Spartacus Workout.

So I went out to my garage where we have a little gym set up out there. Turned up my music and did the work out for the first time. And oh my god! After the mountain climbers my cardio was already going I was sweating and loving it!  I got through the first set and started the second one and couldn't get past exercise 3. I will be doing it again Wednesday and Friday so I'd like to see myself finish the second set.

I love this workout! I am so sore! I can hardly move. I haven't been this sore in a very long time. The whole workout takes about 40 mins and its worth every minute.

Monday List

I hope everyone had a wonderful extended weekend!!! It was sunny and 77 degrees here in England, probably the only bit of summer well get. And I worked all weekend. I got to watch everyone all sun kissed and in their summery outfits, while scanned all their BBQ groceries.... it couldn't have been more depressing. I even forgot yesterday was Monday.... because right now its Tuesday apparently. I've got the day off today... but its back to being cloudy and cold. I'm getting my hair colored today for the first time in 2 years I am so excited for that!


001. Edit my book review
I wrote up my book review and had Ryan read it over and their were just to many bit that needed to be fixed up. So that will be done for the end of the week.

002. Pray for more warm weather
Of course I have next weekend off, all I want is some warm weather that I can enjoy

003. Workout Workout Workout
I'm just holding steady, not losing weight like I want to. And that's my own fault, I don't get myself to the gym enough. I really want to see a difference for next week. And having this weekend off will be a challenge.

Fitness Update

Woke up at 7am and the first thing I did was get ready for the gym. I wasn't going to let myself do anything but go to the gym. It worked. Did my mile run in under 10 mins. I haven't been able to do that in a long time! So that made me feel good! Did a few ab workouts and was home a little after 8am. Showered and did a few things around the house and had breakfast all by 830am. So in reality I just cant say... "Oh I don't have time to get to the gym and shower before work".... well Elsa you just proved yourself WRONG! I must say I feel amazing after the gym. Can I do it tomorrow??? I don't see why not!!

Little Pizza


I swear my days off are so hard to get through with out wanting to scarf down all sorts of terrible food. I love, love, love, Pizza! Its so easy to pop a frozen pizza in the oven and enjoy in 20 mins. So instead I remembered this little pizza my mother used to make when I was younger!

Last night I really didn't want to cook. And what do I turn to when I don't want to cook? Pizza! 4 Cheese to be exact! And I will eat the entire thing too. 1500 calories YUCK! So I compromised. I made my own mini pizza. It was so good! Even my husband loved it! You can always substitute the sauces and cheese, maybe an organic sauce, or just tomato chunks? Next time I might try the Veggie Shreds Cheese. You can put toppings on or have it plain. I used my fitness pal to help me calculate!

I am extremely bored today. I finished all my chores around the house. I even went out and got the new Jodi Picoult book Lone Wolf. I still need to get to the gym. Until then I'll link up with Gentri Lee for 7 Questions 


1. What's your favorite style for home decor? (eclectic, modern, shabby chic, etc.)
Country Cottage Cozy!


2. What is the best trip you have EVER been on?
I would have to say the road tip my father and I took from Massachusetts to Texas. We drove down with all my belonging in tow. I was moving away from home and starting my new life with Ryan. It was the by far one of my favorite trips!! 


3. If you could have an exotic pet, what would it be and why?
A white tiger. I love cats and I have always wanted to cuddle up with a tiger and kiss its nose. 


4. Do you snore? (you can be honest, we're all friends here.)
I don't, but I grind my teeth. 


5. Your car breaks down on the side of the road, what do you do?
Breath and call the AA (since in England its the AA not AAA(triple A))


6. What's one item that has been on your wishlist lately?
Plane tickets to Boston. I want to go home. 


7. It's almost Summer (or winter if you live in the Southern Hemisphere), what are you looking forward to most?
For it to End! I know... WHAT??? But I will be working all summer and trying my hardest to get back into shape. Maybe a bit of traveling, but I just want summer to be done so that it'll be closer to when we move back home!

It is actually gorgeous outside right now!!! The sun is shinning its in the 70s with a cool breeze. It couldnt be any more perfect. In fact, if it were to stay like this for the rest of my life ... I would be fine with it!

This weather is making me miss summertime back home. In one year's time, the very first day of summer like weather I will headed to the beach!

Friday's Letters

Dear Elsa, I am so happy with yourself this week. You have had a positive attitude and wouldn't let anyone ruin it. Work hasn't even been bad because you've been happier. The house is clean and dinner has been precooked each day so Ryan will have dinner when he gets home. Lets keep it up Elsa! Dear Ryan, I am happy that you won't have to go into work Saturday. Even though I have to go in at 1 that still means we'll have some time to hang out. Dear eating healthy, your actually working! All week has been healthy eating. I even made cupcakes that are under 140 calories!! I made mine mini so they are bite size and half the calories! I could have made more I still had half of the mix left.

 Dear working out, I've only been on Monday. But as long as I go today and tomorrow morning then I'll be happier. Dear nightmare last night, Yikes! I need to stop with all the medieval time shows and movies. Game of Thrones, and Brave Heart in one night. Then I spend the night dream about being tortured to death. I woke both Ryan and I screaming last night. Dear Hiro, your birthday is tomorrow! 1 year old! You went from being my Little Muffin to Mr. Fluffington.


Dear England weather, your still kind of cold! It's been nicer, but it's still raining a bit and well I just want summer weather! You were so nice last year. Please make my last summer here a nice and warm one please!

I am an very messy and untidy person. Probably has something to do with laziness. But its all part of what I'm trying to work on. I want to start organizing the messy places around my house. First I want to start with my makeup stand area. That place is a mess and its overwhelming. So I found a few ideas to help me figure out how to control the chaos.

Monday List

I am feeling a lot better about everything today. I had a wonderful weekend with my husband. It was sunny and warm. I spoke with my mother for Mothers Day and Birthday yesterday. That was the last Mothers Day I will ever miss again. I get to cross that off my count down.


001. Get to the gym at least 3 times this week 
Last week I didn't go.

002. Burn 300 calories each trip to the gym (at least)
I want to do that in just cardio. Addition weight lifting is extra.

003. Get a heart rate monitor
I would like to get one that count calories burned too. That way I can keep track of what I burn while weight lifting too. 

004. Finish 11.22.63 by Steven King
I want to finish this week. Half the month is over and I want to be reading two books a month. I'd also like to write a review.

Monday Weight In / Fitness Update

Well its Monday so I got on the scale. I have to say I didn't like having to wait. I usually get on every morning to check. But it did help me stick to my calorie counter. I had it set to lose 1 pound this past week to ease back into it. I'll change it back to 2 for this week. I didn't lose an entire full pound but that's okay.

20 min cardio on the elliptical. I'm not happy with it. I just couldn't breath today. But I pushed myself to 100 calories burned. Its better than nothing.

I personally can't go wrong with baked goods and potato dishes!!!!! I have to say just looking at theses recipes is almost like eating them!!! with out all the nasty calories!!!!! The other day while I was checking out a family they were buying marshmallows ... apparently they now make flat square ones (perfect for smore's), chocolate mint, and cinnamon (I think it was cinnamon). Anyways, we must have just got them in the store... first thing I thought was yum I'm going to buy theses! But instead i gave them a sniff!!! hahaha!!! Just as good as eating them and again no calories! I KNOW ITS WEIRD but it works!!
